A popular route (though marginally illicit), the lighthouse is an old route. The walls need fixing constantly as climbers keep accidentally pulling out bricks.

The Lighthouse is a moderate peak from the fundamentals book. It teaches the player about loose brick holds.

About Peak

The fifth peak in the fundamentals book is the Lighthouse. This peak contains bricks that you use to scale the lighthouse, the catch being that many of these holds deteriorate quickly which are loose bricks. When you start the peak, given you've already collected the stamp from Greenhorn's Top, Porter will be sitting by some rubble, remarking that he believes he's just seen a siren in the ocean.

Strategy

As mentioned before, many of the holds aren't stable. Some bricks will immediately fall out upon grabbing them, while others will take much longer. The safest strategy seems to be to take your time, and verify the integrity of each hold before fully committing. Due to the unstable nature of this peak, leaping to any hold before you're fully comfortable on the lighthouse is a dangerous endeavor.

Tips

YFYD Tips

put out all of the holds that you can in your area before you continue to climb the lighthouse.
