Ymir's Shadow is an Abominable peak from the Advanced book. It is the final advanced peak in the game.
About Peak
The last Peak in the Advanced book and the 3rd to last peak in general, the Ymir's Shadow is the final test of your basic skills. It has long stretches of holds that drain your grip, many slippery holds, hard jumps and a total of four crux's. The way up is mostly vertical with small parts of horizontal movement.
Strategy
A very nice thing to have for this peak is a lot of ropes, chalk and coffee. You will not need to preserve your ropes as much as on the bigger peaks, it can be climbed with only 25-30 ropes thanks to the 2 extra ropes found further up the peak.
Because this peak goes mostly vertical, you can easily catch yourself on a hold when falling down. Still, there are some crevices where there are no holds at all and if you fall in any of these, you will most likely fall pretty much to the bottom. Thus, knowing where to rope will be your best bet when conquering this peak, as with most of the mountains.
As this is one of the last and hardest peaks, you should really get your movement down before attempting an ascent. It is also recommened to unlock the 10-point crampons as these heavily increase jump height when used correctly, they can be unlocked by climbing some other peaks in the third book.
